The Wrecking Crew

The Wrecking Crew were a group of about twenty West Coast musicians hired to create the backing tracks of more hit record, movie and television themes from the early to late 60s than you can even remember. These were the go-to guys relied upon by producers like Phil Spector (to create the Wall of Sound) and Brian Wilson to create the Pet Sounds album, all while remaining largely anonymous to the outside world.

The list of sessions is endless for artists including The Association, Beach Boys, Mancini, Byrds, Elvis, Fifth Dimension, Sinatra, Jan & Dean, Neil Diamond, Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, The Mamas & Papas, The Monkees, Sam Cooke, Simon & Garfunkel...literally, to name only a few (not to mention television theme music from Hawaii Five-O to Batman to Mission Impossible).
