Little Richard

Richard Wayne Penniman born December 5, 1932 is one of the most influential artists of our time. He is credited with laying the foundation of rock & roll, and was also the first artist to put the funk in the rock & roll beat. Countless artists, James Brown, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson and Elvis to name a few, have idolized Little Richard and claim him as a huge influence in their careers. He was also one of the first group of inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Little Richard still performs publicly.
